Author Visit

Beth Evans Caldwell, author of Jack Gives a Smack came to visit Sheffield on April 7th. We had a great time getting to meet a real life author and it was a treat to hear her read her own book! Mrs. Caldwell answered a lot of questions that we had about being an author. Here is her website. I know there were several of you who wanted to ask her some more questions, but we ran out of time. Maybe going on her website will answer some of the questions.

Two Days In May

This week we are reading Two Days in May. We are working on making judgements this week. Remember that when you make judgements you are giving your opinion. You can agree or disagree with someone as long as you can explain why you feel that way. Here is the vocabulary game for you to play around with. Remember your spelling test is Monday and your reading test, which is open book will be Monday as well. Have fun!

Don't Foget FIELD TRIP

Don't forget on April 6th (the day we come back from Spring Break) we are going on a field trip to the Mac computer store at the St. Johns Town Center. We will be at the store creating a ton of cool things from 10-12 and then we are going to McDonalds for lunch. You need to bring your own money for your lunch. You are allowed to bring a bag lunch, but either way figure out how you are eating and don't forget.

Amelia Earhart

Here is some information on Amelia Earhart. Remember nobody really know what happened to her. If you get your parents permission to google "Amelia Earhart" there are some other really good sites that had more pictures. I thought it was neat to see what people dressed like during that time.-Mrs. Biegun

Reading Logs

Lately we have had some people NOT logging in all the great books that they are reading. Remember to log in your books after you finish them. Your book log is in the back of your agenda. The reading celebration is fast approaching and I would hate to have someone from the best 3rd grade class sit out. Your March goal is 3 books, which should be a piece of cake.
