This is for parents

Dear Parents,
Many of you have asked if there will be a Holiday work packet sent home. Due to copies and budget restraints we are not able to send home a work packet. There are plenty of activites for students to do on Destination sucess. Students have their log in and password in their agendas and they should know how to acess it on the dcps webpage. We have worked with this site several times this year. The programs run slow at school, so they should have an easier time getting on at home. If you have any questions just email me at biegunb@duvalschools.org
Thank you and have a great break.
Mrs. Biegun

Interviewing for our Report Writing

Don't forget over the holiday break to interview the person you selected. You need to ask them the 10 questions that you chose. We have been practicing writing down repsonses and we really realized that it is a bit harder than we thought. Remember to be polite and if you need them to repeat something say it nicely. I can't wait to hear how your interviews went. The questions are due January 7th. Remember you are writing their reponses in your project notebook, these dont have to be perfect, but you should remember what they said.

Trickster Tales Fun

We have been studying Trickster Tales for a couple of weeks now. I found this quiz online see if you can get tricked or not!

Awesome Geronimo Stilton Stuff

I happened to find this awesome site for all of the Geronimo Stilton fans!! I hope you like it. I know I had a good time playing with some of the things on here. This site is set up just like the Gazette in the book and its really cool because you can listen to some of the Geronimo books. This is really neat. Let me know what you think!

Report Writing

We are just beginning our report writing genre. Our class is going to do something a little different. We are going to be conducting interviews! Instead of doing research in books we are going to talk to members of our family to do our research. Interview questions and more information will be coming home in next few days so be on the lookout.

Here are some links to check out samples of interviews:

Dancing Rainbows

Our last story for our Celebrating Traditions theme is Dancing Rainbows. This is a really intersting story about a Native American boy who learns dancing from his grandfather. Check out the fun games that go along with this story. Remember that this one link has a biography from the author, vocabulary games and more.
